In over 30 years of practice, Barbara Lyons has represented individual, business, union, and government litigants in individual and class consumer protection, wage and hour, employment discrimination, environmental, property rights, antitrust, securities, intellectual property, nonprofit governance, individual tort, false government claims, business disputes, and other civil and bankruptcy actions.

Ms. Lyons is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before all federal district courts in California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. She has argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and California appellate courts and authored numerous appellate briefs, including those in:

As legislative staff for the California Senate Commission on Corporate Governance, Securities Transactions, and Shareholder Rights, she advised the commission and collaborated with legislative staff, constituents, and advocates on California’s limited liability act, securities legislation, partnership legislation, and legislation designed to address unequal representation on corporate boards of directors.

Ms. Lyons’s nonprofit work includes past service on the boards of directors of the King Hall Legal Foundation, the Northern California Children’s Therapy Center, and the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County.

She is a graduate of Harvard University (Radcliffe College) and of the University of California, Davis School of Law.
